Our Philosophy

The purpose of Coastal Martial Arts is to provide students with a quality Martial Arts education that applies the basic principals of mental discipline, personal growth, and physical conditioning to daily situations.

    Our Creed

All students are warmly welcomed and encouraged to train in a family style atmosphere of respect and discipline, without regard to race, gender, age, religion and creed, or gender preferences.  All students have the right to learn in a non-political Martial Arts environment, and shall be tested and graded upon their individual abilities, rather than their time in training or preference in associations.

Our Hope

Our hope for our students is that they grow with us and truly embrace the spirit of the Martial Arts.  Our students are welcomed into classes as both beginners and transfer students without bias or predjudice.  We encourage our adult students to train in the style(s) which are best suited to their individual needs.  Occasionally, this may result in a student cross-training in another school simultaneously with ours.  To us, this is the highest form of dedication and is encouraged as long as the student can differentiate between styles at the time of testing and promotion.

Our Goal

We teach the Martial Arts to empower individuals to live happier, more productive, and peaceful lives.  Our belief is that our society places an excessive emphasis on negativity and violence.  This is propagated intentionally through the media which reports a majority of violence and crime, over human interest stories.  The movie industry feeds into this by creating movies that show Martial Arts and popular artists in aggressive and violent confrontations.  Our goal is to overcome the negativity and promote harmony between different styles, cultures, and people.
